REFUND POLICY

1. Our Guarantee

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on all new subscriptions. If you subscribe and decide within the first 7 days that The Briefing is not right for you, email us at refunds@thebrief.ing for a refund. No questions asked.

Refunds are issued minus a 3% transaction fee. This fee covers non-recoverable payment processing costs charged to us by our payment provider and is non-refundable regardless of circumstance.

Example: A refund on a $19 monthly subscription would return $18.43. A refund on a $145 annual subscription would return $140.65.

After 7 days, subscriptions are non-refundable. Because our entire library and Briefing AI are unlocked instantly on day one, 7 days is a genuine and fair window to evaluate the full product.

2. What Is Covered

2.1 New Subscriptions

  • Monthly plan ($19/month): Refund of $18.43 if requested within 7 days of your first charge.
  • Annual plan ($145/year): Refund of $140.65 if requested within 7 days of your first charge.
  • No reason required. The 3% transaction fee is the only deduction.

2.2 What Is Not Covered

  • Refund requests made more than 7 days after the initial charge.
  • Subscription renewals — monthly or annual charges after the first billing cycle.
  • The 3% transaction fee — this is non-refundable in all cases.
  • Accounts found to be in violation of our Terms of Service.
  • Accounts with a pattern of subscribe-refund-resubscribe abuse.

3. How to Request a Refund

Email us at refunds@thebrief.ing within 7 days of your first charge with the following:

  • Subject line: Refund Request – [your email address]
  • The email address used to subscribe.
  • Your reason (optional — helps us improve, but not required).

We will confirm your refund request within 24 hours and process it within 2–3 business days.

4. Refund Amount Summary

For clarity, here is what you will receive back under our guarantee:

  • Monthly plan ($19.00): Refund of $18.43 (minus $0.57 transaction fee).
  • Annual plan ($145.00): Refund of $140.65 (minus $4.35 transaction fee).

The transaction fee is charged by our payment processor at the time of purchase and cannot be recovered by us when a refund is issued.

5. Refund Processing Times

Once we process your refund, your bank or payment processor handles the rest:

  • Credit or debit card: 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
  • PayPal: 3–5 business days.
  • Other methods: typically 5–10 business days.

You will receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed on our end.

6. Billing Errors

If you were charged incorrectly — wrong amount, duplicate charge, or charged after cancellation — contact us immediately at billing@thebrief.ing. Billing errors are corrected in full, including the transaction fee, regardless of the 7-day window.

7. Cancellation vs. Refund

These are two separate actions:

  • Cancellation stops future billing. It does not issue a refund for the current period.
  • A refund request gets your money back (minus 3%) for the current period, within 7 days of charge.

You can cancel and request a refund at the same time if you are within the 7-day window. To cancel, use your account dashboard or email support@thebrief.ing.

8. Access After Refund

  • Your subscription access is revoked when a refund is issued.
  • Books you downloaded prior to the refund are yours to keep.

9. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank. We process all legitimate refund requests quickly and a chargeback is never necessary. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first may result in account suspension per our Terms of Service.
