1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing www.thebrief.ing (“Site”) or purchasing a subscription from The Briefing (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our Site or purchase a subscription.

2. Definitions

“The Briefing” or “we” or “us” refers to the company operating www.thebrief.ing

“You” or “Customer” refers to the individual accessing our Site or purchasing a subscription.

“Digital Books” refers to the original PDF books included in your subscription (60–100 pages each).

“Briefing AI” refers to the AI assistant included with all subscriptions, powered by large language model technology with The Briefing’s library as its knowledge base.

“Subscription” refers to our recurring monthly or annual access plan.

“Services” refers to all products and services offered by The Briefing, including digital books and Briefing AI.

3. Subscription Terms

3.1 Subscription Plans

We currently offer the following subscription plans:

Monthly: $19/month — full access to all digital books and Briefing AI.
Annual: $145/year — full access to all digital books and Briefing AI (save 36%).

Both plans include immediate access to the full library and Briefing AI from the moment of subscription. No drip, no waiting.

3.2 Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed on the date you subscribe and renew automatically each month or year.
You will be charged on the same date each billing cycle.
We will send a reminder email before each annual renewal.

3.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account dashboard or by emailing support@thebrief.ing.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
You retain access to all books you have downloaded, even after cancellation.
No refunds for partial months or partial years, except under our 30-day money-back guarantee (see Section 4).

3.4 Changes to Plans

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with 30 days’ advance notice. Current subscribers will be grandfathered at their existing price for 12 months from any price change.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all new subscriptions. If you are not satisfied for any reason, contact us within 30 days of your initial purchase for a full refund to your original payment method. No questions asked.

4.2 Subsequent Billing Periods

Refunds are not available for subscription renewals beyond the initial 30-day guarantee window, except where required by applicable law.

5. Briefing AI — Specific Terms

5.1 What Briefing AI Is

Briefing AI is an AI-powered assistant included with all subscriptions. It is built on large language model technology (currently powered by third-party providers including Anthropic and/or OpenAI) and uses The Briefing’s full library as its knowledge base. It is designed to help you apply skills from the library to real situations you are facing.

5.2 What Briefing AI Is Not

Briefing AI is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, psychological, or otherwise).
Briefing AI responses are generated by AI and may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your specific circumstances.
Always use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals for decisions with significant consequences.

5.3 Acceptable Use of Briefing AI

You agree to use Briefing AI only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You may not:

Attempt to extract, scrape, or reproduce the underlying library content via AI queries.
Use Briefing AI to generate content for resale or commercial distribution.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or manipulate the AI system.
Use Briefing AI to produce harmful, illegal, or misleading content.

5.4 AI Availability

We aim to provide uninterrupted access to Briefing AI but do not guarantee it. AI availability may be affected by third-party provider outages, maintenance, or usage limits. We are not liable for temporary unavailability of Briefing AI.

5.5 AI Improvements

We reserve the right to update, improve, or change the AI model or provider powering Briefing AI at any time. Such changes will not reduce the core functionality of the service.

6. Digital Books — Specific Terms

6.1 Delivery

All digital books are delivered as PDF files, accessible immediately upon subscription.
Books are accessible via your account dashboard on any device.
New books are added to the library as they are released and are immediately available to active subscribers.

6.2 Ownership After Cancellation

Every book you have downloaded during your subscription is yours to keep permanently, even after cancellation. We believe you should own what you’ve learned.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership

All content on The Briefing — including but not limited to book content, graphics, design, website code, product names, and branding — is owned by The Briefing or licensed to us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 License to Use

When you subscribe, we grant you a non-exclusive, personal, non-commercial license to access and use the content for your own learning and development.

7.3 Restrictions

You may not:

Reproduce, distribute, or sell any content from The Briefing.
Share your account credentials or digital files with others.
Use content for commercial purposes or to create competing products.
Use Briefing AI outputs to create derivative works for distribution or sale.
Use automated tools to scrape, download, or extract content.

Violations may result in account termination and legal action.

8. User Accounts

8.1 Account Creation

To subscribe, you must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate information, and maintain the security of your account credentials.

8.2 Account Security

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@thebrief.ing if you suspect unauthorized access.

8.3 Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, share account credentials, or abuse our services or support team.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 Content Accuracy

The Briefing books and Briefing AI are for informational and educational purposes only. Content is not professional advice. You use information at your own risk and should consult qualified professionals for specific decisions.

9.2 AI Accuracy

Briefing AI responses are generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated response.

9.3 Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our Site, digital library, or Briefing AI. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance may occur.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Briefing is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. For questions about jurisdiction, contact legal@thebrief.ing.

11.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing any claim, contact us at legal@thebrief.ing to resolve the dispute informally. We will work in good faith toward a resolution within 14 days.

11.3 Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration, except for small claims court actions, intellectual property disputes, or claims for injunctive relief.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers and by notice on our Site. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel your subscription and stop using our Services.
